I was watching Donald Trump's Hit Reality show "The Apprentice" recently, and even if this is TV (where any businessperson would immediately not make the best impact or use of his time & energy) my mind got served up with great views and insights in looking at business and Real Estate. This is because when you look at the show, Donald Trump would give out bits of his teachings, principles & secrets at one point in every show on the series. And guess what was the very first lesson that Donald Trump imbibed on the show?
"Location, Location, Location!"
Through the pilot show of a new never-been-done TV series, a world-renowned Billionaire who is one of the richest & iconic persons in the world is immediately saying: Knowing the best LOCATION is the first lesson! Why and how come? You have got to ask.
For every TV series or Reality show it is important that we establish immediate connection with the viewers, especially on the very 1st show. If you would look at every successful series show on TV, you will have to look at the very first aired show to see for yourself and ask "how come this show clicked?" On the very first show, you will be able to see firsthand: how come this "Joe Millionaire" thing got people hooked? What is that ingredient that caught people's attention and kept them viewing "Big Brother" or "The Biggest Loser", or "American Idol"?
Well, we're not even starting yet. Ask yourself how come these Reality TV shows suddenly became a hit in TV, and started a new wave in Pop Culture? If you take a bird's eye view look at it, you will not be able to get a real grasp until you look at the very first show that started it all. We have got to ask - how did it all start? Or better yet, who started it all? I may be right or wrong, I'm not a huge TV fan but my best guess, and which I believe have had the biggest impact on it all, is the show SURVIVOR. So, how did this show start it all?!?
Well.. sorry, I don't have the best answer for that now (I will have to go back and look for that show's pilot series), but this is not the real point I'm putting across. My point is: WHAT really starts a "hit" thing? and of course, the best question of all the 5Ws:
WHY?
The answer: it all starts with the FIRST show, the first moment, the first words, the first impression, the first bang. The HEAD. The Root. The Senior. The Mastermind.
As Jay Abraham (who is the #1 Marketing Guru in the world) says: the HEADLINE is one of the best tools in any business marketing campaign. For your marketing to be effective and make a big impact on your sales, you need a great headline for your campaign. The headline is not necessarily a headline in a newspaper - it could be the first few seconds of your TV Ad, or the first few lines in your bandit sign, the introductory words for a webpage ad, or the first phrases that you say when selling to a cold market prospect. It can be the PILOT, or the first show of a TV or Movie series, as for our example.
Simply put, the headline is obviously and logically effective because it's the one that gets people's attention.
Going back, for the pilot show of the hit series, The Apprentice, Donald Trump gave his thoughts about "Location, Location, Location!" - let's ask, why is this the very first lesson that Donald Trump taught? Because location is the first thing in Real Estate. Real Estate is all about location. The reason why corner lots are more valuable. The reason why some Estates are considered prime, even if it's not a corner lot. Good business and good Real Estate is all about LOCATION.
When you look at the show, you would get even more excited because -- guess what is the first product the participants were assigned to sell?
It's not Real Estate, or a prime property in New York.
It's not Stocks, or any of high-profile investments they speak of in Wallstreet.
It's plain old lemonade.
The first lesson: to be able to get the best location to set up a "hot-selling ice-cold" lemonade.
Rephrasing a bit, the first task for any business or any person looking for the best Real Estate is knowing the best locations. I think this challenge disguised in a phrase simply best fits my first entry on this blog.
Get to know the best location. And get to know what are the best "hot-selling ice-cool" Lemonade Properties in the Philippines.

Remember: It's not even good if it's not an ASSET PROPERTY.
